The other day Cathy was mentioning how great of an actress Kristen Stewart is because she can depict such a wide range of emotion on screen. It was only after Ashley whole-heartedly agreed with her that I decided it was time to look into Kristen Stewart’s newest masterpiece – American Ultra.
The movie follows around a guy who has made a lot of poor choices in life, and finds himself suffering from a debilitating range of anxiety (played by Jesse Eisenberg — that guy who did The Social Network movie). The one solid thing he does have in his life is his loving girlfriend (Kristen Stewart) who tries to help him through the hard times. It seems like he is going nowhere, and is only a disappointment to his girlfriend.
But as the movie progresses, he discovers that there is more to him than meets the eye. After a run in with a strange lady he’s never seen before she triggers something in him that radically changes his future. Suddenly he becomes a killing machine and discovers he’s being hunted.
It’s a race of adrenaline and emotion (driven by Kristen Stewart’s fantastic acting ability) until the very end, with some predictable but fun plot twists within the second half of the movie.
The movie actually isn’t that great, but I’ll give it a 5 out of 5 because of Kristen Stewart’s ability to carry the movie.

I saw this the other day… I’m still not a fan of Kristen Stewart.
1 hour and 36 minutes of my life that I will never get back.
This sounds horrible. I think you lost me at “killing machine”.
I have to say, I saw this over the weekend (in a “high on cold medicine” state) but I was impressed by Kristen Stewart. I am still not a huge fan of hers, but it was much better than I expected.
